The Alphorn made of stone pine wood emits the distinctive scent of stone pine wood. Connoisseurs even attribute active ingredients to stone pine wood that have health-promoting effects.

In Switzerland, this type of wood is also called Arve.

In Europe, America, and Asia, the tuning f is primarily played, in Switzerland the Alphorn is most frequently used in the tuning fis/ges.
