The Alphorn made of spruce wood is the most played Alphorn worldwide.

In Europe, America, and Asia, the tuning f is primarily played, while in Switzerland, the Alphorn is most frequently used in the tuning fis/ges.

Characteristics and Features:

• 3-piece Alphorn made of spruce wood in tuning Bb
• consisting of hand tube, middle tube, and bell tube, bell foot made of maple (hardwood)
• wound and lacquered (winding serves to protect the wood)
• plug connections made of aluminum – gold anodized with sealing rings, thus highly abrasion-resistant, very high precision fit even after years without air loss
• high-quality and stable bell ring with 215 mm made of solid cherry wood
• consistent and uniform wall thickness of 8.5 mm
• tuned to 440 Hz (442 Hz possible)
• very secure intonation and harmonious in itself
