The Swiss stone pine alphorn emits the unmistakable scent of Swiss stone pine wood. Connoisseurs even say that Swiss stone pine wood contains active ingredients that have a health-promoting effect.

In Switzerland, this type of wood is also called Swiss stone pine.

In Europe, America and Asia, the alphorn is primarily played in the pitch F, while in Switzerland the alphorn is most commonly used in the pitch F#/ges.
