The alphorn made of spruce wood is the most played alphorn in the world.

In Europe, America and Asia, the alphorn is primarily played in the pitch F, while in Switzerland the alphorn is most commonly used in the pitch F#/ges.

Characteristics and features:

• 3 - part alphorn made of spruce wood in tuning f
• consisting of hand tube, center tube and cup tube, cup base made of maple (hardwood)
• Wrapped and varnished (wrapping serves to protect the wood)
• Plug-in connections made of aluminium - gold anodized with sealing rings, therefore highly abrasion-resistant, very high fitting accuracy even after years without air loss
• High-quality and stable cup ring with 215 mm made of solid cherry wood
• Continuous and consistent wall thickness of 8.5 mm
• tuned to 440 Hz (442 Hz possible)
• very intonation-safe and coherent
• extremely easy response due to the special cup structure and wall thickness
